Magalawa Island

Image
I thought I have explored Zambales to its end but I thought wrong.  When I consulted Google about the list of the islands or a must-see in Zambales - one of the names on the list happened to be unfamiliar and eye-catching - Magalawa Island .                  I have been to Zambales several times, I knew travelling at night is best - less passenger, no traffic (less travel time), you can sleep while travelling.  From Victory Liner Cubao, we took the 11:30pm schedule to Olongapo (the earliest trip from Cubao to Sta. Cruz is 6:30am).  It'll cost you P212/pax.  From Olongapo terminal, we took another bus going to Sta. cruz, only P130/pax  to Iba, Zambales Victory Liner Terminal.  Add P50/pax if you want to be drop at drop-off point - Brgy. Pangolinan, Paluig, Zambales. We chose to stay a little bit longer in Iba terminal because it was ...

Bicol: Misibis Bay Raintree Resort

Image
I've heard a lot about  Bicol Region , about its famous volcano with a perfect-cone and the dare-devil adventure in  Camsur Water-Sports Complex , the spectacular beauty of  Caramoan Peninsula  and the tongue-scorching cuisine.  Oh, must I mention that this is the home of our local barbie-doll Bb. Pilipinas winner and 1st runner up Ms. Universe 2010 Venus Raj ?                   The highlight of our second day trip in Bicol was in Misibis Bay Raintree Resort . I am sure, most of beach bummers and travelers like us have heard about this world class resort.  Who wouldn't when not just Kris Aquino and Manny 'Pacman' Paquiao who stayed here but Zac Efron too.  The place was huge you need an ATV, mountain bike, dune buggies, a kayak, jet-ski to explore it. the place les...

Camarines Sur

I've heard a lot about  Bicol Region , about its famous volcano with a perfect-cone and the dare-devil adventure in  Camsur Water-Sports Complex , the spectacular beauty of  Caramoan Peninsula  and the tongue-scorching cuisine.  Oh, must I mention that this is the home of our local barbie-doll Bb. Pilipinas winner and 1st runner up Ms. Universe 2010 Venus Raj?                 Our main destination is Legazpi City but we are sad to leave without visiting the famous Camsur Water-Sports Complex in Pili, Camarines Sur , not to add, its only a three (3) hours or less from Legazpi.  So, having realized that, we hired a van from the Legazpi to visit Naga, CWC in Pili and Iriga.  It cost us P3,500 for the whole trip (10 hours usage including fuel, driver and local tour guide).  If you don't know anyo...

Capones Grande Island

Image
Capones Lighthouse ! It's located in Capones Island, Pundaquit, Zambales.  It was known as the "Isla de Gran Capon" during the Spanish Era.  This is one of the famous landmark in Barangay Pundaquit.  This is four kilometers off Pundaquit shore which is located in San Antonio - one of the famous town of Zambales.  The lighthouse used to light the international vessels coming from the north towards to Subic Bay or Corregidor Lighthouse Island, fronting Manila Bay.  It's hard to believe this Faro de Punta Capones or Capones Island Lighthouse started way back 1890.  The solar-powered lighthouse still looked-like it was build couple of years back - the brick house still intact except for the care taker's house that looks like it'll collapse anytime if hit by strong wind.  It really needs an urgent repair.  the original lamp and lantern were already replaced by Philippine Coast Guard which ...

Coron Island: The Tour

Image
I wonder why Coron in Palawan is rather famous for adventurers and loner alike when it is Puerto Princesa that's considered Palawan's capital city.  Last October 1st, aboard Cebu Pacific Air , my friend Mel and I landed for the first time in Francisco Reyes (Busuanga-Coron) Airport .  Other airlines also fly guests from Manila to Coron: PAL express and  Zest Air.  Fetched by Dive Link Resort van from the airport, we went straight to Coron's pier located right next to Coron Public Market and one of the famous and new hotel in town - Coron Gateway Hotel . Though ours are free, if you are alone van rental may cost you P150/pax or around P1,500/whole van.  Ten minutes away from the pier, by boat, is our resort - Dive Link Resort , where we will stay for 3 exciting days to explore this under populated but popular place.               Coron, I may say ...

Hundred Islands National Park

Image
One of the best places Pangasinese's must be proud of is the Hundred Islands , located in Lucap, Alaminos, Pangasinan .  The islands are truly remarkable for it offers not just a simple island tour to both local and international tourist but a lot of water activities you cannot just do in a resort.  One of those is Cliff-diving  - where you have to trek a little to get to the top of the cliff inside the cave and jump. I just loved the adrenaline-rush and the splash of the cave -water along with the noises from the cave bats visible on the cave ceiling.  This cave is located in Marcos Island .             If you love the beauty you see on the surface, you'll love more the beautiful scenery under the sea.  I get to see the giant clams and how big and beautiful each one in its own territory. Giants Clams watching was sooo much fun I forgot I am swimming farther f...
