Hundred Islands National Park

One of the best places Pangasinese's must be proud of is the Hundred Islands, located in Lucap, Alaminos, Pangasinan.  The islands are truly remarkable for it offers not just a simple island tour to both local and international tourist but a lot of water activities you cannot just do in a resort.  One of those is Cliff-diving  - where you have to trek a little to get to the top of the cliff inside the cave and jump. I just loved the adrenaline-rush and the splash of the cave -water along with the noises from the cave bats visible on the cave ceiling.  This cave is located in Marcos Island.

If you love the beauty you see on the surface, you'll love more the beautiful scenery under the sea.  I get to see the giant clams and how big and beautiful each one in its own territory. Giants Clams watching was sooo much fun I forgot I am swimming farther from the boat.  We are provided of snorkeling gear prior to the start of our day activities and life jackets for those who don't know how to swim.  The clam's area is located right behind Quezon Island, the famous island where the tourist can stay while on a picnic and where the locals in the area lives. Campers normally chose this island for its wide shore.  Guest can cook their meals in the island, play, swim, snorkel, take pictures, do some kayak, etc.

Bahay Kubo's are located in Children's Island where one can stay overnight. Those who plan to spend the night here must be ready for a repellent lotion because bedrooms were only screens and electric lights are not  available.  Dining, cooking as well as toilet and bath are for common use.

And the 3rd developed island is Governor's Island where you will find "Bahay ni Kuya" (Big Brother House).  The island has a guesthouse which is ideals for those who are scared of mosquito and insects bites.  It has bedrooms, toilet/bath rooms, kitchen, generator lighting and other amenities for comfortable staying.

At mainland (Brgy. Lucap), you get to take a picture of you with the famous Lucap Lighthouse as your background or sprawled down with the Hundred Islands sign at the entrance of the park. You may also buy pasalubong in the market and even ask the "tindero and tindera" to customize your orders.  The main buildings in Lucap Park provided a conference room, business/information center and accommodation facilities.

How to get there:

You can take a bus from Cubao, preferably Victory Liner to Alalminos, Pangasinan where the islands are located.  I chose Victory Liner even if they are not the only bus liner that goes that route because their buses are  spacious, comfortable, clean enough (like less clutter and no odor) and the fare is reasonable.  From Alaminos town proper, you can rent a tricycle to Lucap.  Right beside the bay where you will see several pasalubong stores are an array of accommodation.  You can choose from big concrete resorts to nipa cottages and from dormitory styles to 2-4pax per room policy.  Any resort owner knows anyone who own a boat and they can help you rent a boat to tour the islands.  They even offer packages for groups who wanted to save.
