Amansinaya Mountain Resort

Do you think you've explored Tagaytay and know all about Batangas? Think again. One week day, my friend and I decided to visit the place one of my office mates talked about: Amansinaya Mountain Resort.  I was informed the place is far from Manila and its not as developed as Tagaytay City or other part of Tagaytay nor Batangas but it's so beautiful and breath-taking. Wanted to see it for my self, we decided to packed our bags and off we go.

As instructed by the receptionist who answered my call couple of days prior to the trip, we took an FX ride from Star Mall at Shaw Blvd - EDSA around 8AM (P180/pax) to Lemery, Batangas. After 2hrs, we were dropped-off Tamayo Road, Tamayo, Batangas to ride a motorcycle (P130/pax) up until we reach Laurel Town, Batangas.  The ride? Oh, a roller coaster I may say (I mean, if I may write!).  As expected, more of a dirt road  and a lot of going down slope.  After 30 minutes, we've reached the Bayan of Laurel - right in front of the Municipal Hall you will see  a lot of tricycle that will bring you to the resort (P50/pax).  Another route from Manila is to take SLEX then STAR Tollway until you reach the exit of Tanauan City.  Keep to the right  and pass through Tanauan City and Talisay City until you reach Bayan ng Laurel.

Finally, we've reached the entrance of the place and its called Hacienda Cascada. You bet, the resort is within a hacienda. Cool, right? <I feel like I am a "haciendera".:)> A few minutes ride from the entrance is the Pugad Lawin Adventure Camp where you get to feel the joy of sliding several times to their mud slide (just like me!), climb their 40ft wall climb (just like me!), try their zip-line (just like me!) or the obstacle race.  Right next are the Balinese inspired "bahay-kubo" where you can run to the camping area and back to the comfy sleeping quarter when necessary for the race at no time.  You can choose to stay in their Casatel:  Casa Amman and Casa Bora. each unit provides eight rooms and a private pool for comfortable and convenient stay. Perhaps Casa Sonrisas will suit your taste. Its a hotel like structure that offers rooms for guest or groups that will not fit in casatel nor bahay-kubo's available in Pugad Lawin Adventure Camp.

The resort boost 2 equality beautiful swimming pools. Infinity pool is located right next to Patio Filipino restaurant, overlooking the virgin forest of the hacienda and the breathtaking view of Ambon-Ambon falls nearby.  The second pool and bigger pool is situated right in front of the casatel, few minutes drive from the reception.

Right after our sumptuous Filipino cooked lunch in Patio Filipino, we proceeded to check out Ambon-ambon falls. The trek took us 2hrs to get to the falls and back to the point of origin, Pugad Lawin Adventure Camp.  Along the way are houses of locals who work in the resort, "palayan" (rice fields), Malagaslas Falls (smaller falls), herd of goats and groups of horses, cows, chickens, hogs, dogs and other farm animals.

In Pugad Lawin Adventure Camp, our guide assisted us to do the above mentioned activities. Then we proceeded to taking pictures of the hacienda and learning about its origin.  Want to learn about its history and origin too? Contact them now!
