Bohol Trip

I was asked once by a friend where in Visayas Island should I visit first if given a chance, I immediately answered:" If not Siquijor or Boracay, then I'd go for Panglao beach and Chocolate Hills!". Why should I not, I've only seen those places on the books and in my dreams. But not long after that, I've seen myself as one of the passengers of Cebu Pacific Airlines bound for Tagbilaran City, capital of Bohol.

Along with my five friends, we checked-in at Dumaluan Beach Resort in Panglao Island.  The resort offers standard rooms, standard deluxe rooms, superior deluxe rooms, suite room and presidential suite. Each room offers air-conditioning and private toilet and bathroom and refrigerator, bath tub and cable TV for other higher accommodations. They also have a swimming pool with a jacuzzi, bar and restaurant where you can jam with the band, function hall and video KTV for those who chose this resort as reception of their memorable events/milestones in life. An internet cafe, souvenir shop and a medical clinic.

A long list of water and land activities are available for guest to choose from.  You can rent a boat for Island hopping, dolphin and whale watching; snorkeling; jet-ski; wake boarding; Para sailing; wave runner; wind surfing; kayaks; glass bottom boat; speed boat; scuba diving and one of their land activities... horse riding. You wouldn't say the stay will bore you to death. A day wouldn't be enough to try these activities and have fun. I wouldn't mention the laze on the beach that took my breath away the first time I step my feet on the fine sand of Panglao.

The resort offered us a Bohol Tour package we cannot refused.  On our second day, we leave the resort at 7Am to visit the pride of Bohol, the reason why local and international guest are kept on coming back.

  • Blood Compact Site
  • Baclayon Church

Other destinations we are not able to visit unfortunately are as follows: Sagbayan Peak, Balicasag and Pamilacan Dolphin watching, Barrio Tours and Mag-aso Water Falls.  There are a lot of beautiful beaches and resorts that you can choose in Panglao Island.   One of the famous and I got the opportunity to explore is Bohol Beach Club.  And not to mention the world-class beauty and amenities by these following resorts: Lost Horizon Resort, Flushing Meadows Resort and Playground, Panglao Island Nature Resort and Spa, Alona Kew White Beach and Resort.

We also watched movie and had dinner at Island City Mall, in Tagbilaran, we stayed at Buen Bella Pension House located at Miguel Parras Street, Tagbilaran City, Bohol.  Other hotels, inns/accommodations in the city are as follows: MetroCentre Hotel,. Meridian Hotel, Hotel La Roca, Soledad Suites and more.

We roamed around the city for our guide is our friend who went to school in one of the universities in Bohol. We were guided to one of the cheapest and cozy restaurant I've visited in Tagbilaran: Express Wok in BQ Mall
Tagbilaran City can be reach from Manila via Cebu either flights of PAL, Cebu Pacific or  Air Philippines. From Cebu, one can take the ride via SuperCat, Ocean Jet and Kinswell.
