            If there's an adjective or phrase to describe Filipinos other than being hospitable and the love for eating like there's no tomorrow, it's the passion for music.  Filipinos love to sing, and because I am a proud Filipino, I am not an exception.  A celebration to Filipinos is not a celebration without the food and of course - the music.  Name the occasion - music is always in the air (even during wake/burial - yes, there is music!).

             I still remember my grandma would say that grandpa would sing to her (for Filipinos, we call it "Harana") in acapella during their courtship and even after the wedding.  My older cousins do sing too and they normally accompanied it with either a guitar or 'barabad' - a set of drum made by either bamboo or 'yantok' (rattan).  As time goes by, Filipinos love for music is still alive and getting  livelier as time passed.  People are getting innovative every time.  From guitar to piano; from 'barabad' to new and high-tech drums; from acapella to pop,  rock, country, R&B type of music, et al.

           
It started, with us, singing along with those MTV music videos (some of us, will even buy a copy of song lyrics from the bookstore to memorize the lyrics of our favorite songs).  Then, MYX was born, that provides not just a simple music videos but information about the origin of the music and the artist., how the videos are created and eventually,  provides lyrics of the song at the bottom of each music videos.  Television manufacturer will call it a 'close caption' feature.

             For those who wants to enjoy singing at home with their love ones will bring out their videoke/karaoke tapes and their famous 'magic sing'.  Magic sing is a new and first portable karaoke microphone.  It was introduced and manufactured by Enter Tech last 2000 and comes with either one or two micro phones.  For others, who can afford to rent and pay a convenient, cozy and air-conditioned place goes to music lounges to music bars scatter within the Metro.

           Chicago, Music Match, Music 21, Platinum, Top Grill, Cuba Libre and Red Box, among others.  These are some of the famous music lunges in the metro that offers mainly an entertainment evolving in listening to music or singing, jamming to their local band or singing-you-heart-content in a private  and cozy room.  My personal favorite are Chicago and Red Box for they provide different promotions and options for their visitors. A lot better and wider accommodations compared to other providers. And a sumptuous supply of finger foods.
